Privacy Policy
Last updated October 14, 2026
This page explains what information Yiddish Videos keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it. Short version: we keep only what the site needs to work. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking or analytics tools from other companies.
If you just watch
You can watch without an account. We don't know who you are. Each time a video is opened we add one to its view count, which is just a number and isn't linked to you. Like any website, our hosting provider sees your IP address while delivering pages and videos.
What we keep if you have an account
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored scrambled, so nobody can read it). If you sign in with Google, we get your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Sign-ins: for each device you're signed in on, its IP address and browser type, so you can see and sign out other devices.
- What you do on the site: videos you like or dislike, channels you subscribe to, videos you save to Watch later, and whether you get the Daily Digest.
- Notifications: what we show you under the bell (for example a reply to your message or news about a report) and when you last opened it. We delete notifications after 30 days.
- Messages and reports: what you write to us in Help & feedback (plus the page you were on, if you agree to attach it), and videos you report with the reason.
- Purchases: videos you bought to download, the price, the date and the email used to pay. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
Why we keep it
- To sign you in and keep your account safe.
- To show your likes, subscriptions and saved videos.
- To send emails you asked for or need: password reset, email change, replies to your messages, and the Daily Digest if you turned it on.
- To answer your messages and handle reports.
- To let you download videos you bought, and to keep records of sales.
- To stop abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs. No advertising or tracking cookies.
- Sign-in cookies: keep you signed in.
- Theme cookie: remembers Dark or Light if you pick one.
Your browser also remembers small settings like whether the side menu is open. This never leaves your device.
Who else handles your information
We don't sell or rent your information to anyone. A few companies help us run the site:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database and the videos, and sends our emails.
- Google, only if you choose "Continue with Google" to sign in.
- Stripe, only if you buy a download. Stripe takes the payment and keeps its own records of it under Stripe's privacy policy.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people from harm.
Who can see what
Your likes, subscriptions and saved videos are private. Our admins can see your name, email address, your messages and your reports, so they can help you and keep the site safe.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while you have an account. When you delete your account (in Settings), we delete your account, sign-ins, likes, subscriptions, saved videos, reports, notifications, email settings and your Help & feedback conversations. Like and subscriber counts go down to match. Records of things you bought are kept (without your account) because we need them for our accounts and taxes. Copies in our backups disappear as the backups are replaced.
Your choices
- Change your name, email or password, or delete your account, in Settings.
- Turn the Daily Digest off in Settings, or with the unsubscribe link in any Daily Digest email.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to fix or delete something, through Help & feedback.
Children
You must be at least 13 to create an account. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we will delete it.
Security
The whole site uses a secure connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored scrambled, and only our admins can see account details. No website is perfectly safe, so please use a strong password you don't use anywhere else.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For big changes we will try to let you know on the site or by email.
